Jarely Castro

(503) 912-7247

Jarely was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. Her family moved to rural Wyoming when she was three years old. She moved to Portland, Oregon, after she was awarded a debate scholarship from Lewis and Clark College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs.

During her undergraduate career, she competed in parliamentary debate and qualified for a variety of national competitions, where she ranked nationally. Her speech and debate experience taught her the art of persuasion and strong communication skills.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law. While in law school, she was part of the Moot Court Board and competed in moot court competitions, where she fostered trial advocacy skills. During law school she also gained practical work experience as a law clerk, where she focused on personal injury law.

As a first-generation graduate, lawyer, and native Spanish speaker, she uses her Spanish fluency to make legal services more accessible to the Spanish-speaking community by bridging linguistic and cultural gaps.

In her free time, she enjoys baking, spending time at the Oregon coast, and going to the gym.
