Why attorneys refer to us.

We take the cases other firms return.

Complex liability, catastrophic injury, long-timeline litigation against well-funded defendants. We have the infrastructure for cases that take years and the expert network to win them.

Your client stays your client.

We work with referring attorneys, not around them. You stay in the loop throughout. The relationship you built is the one you keep when the case is over.

Referral fees, handled cleanly.

We pay referral fees in compliance with Oregon and Washington bar rules. Client consent in writing. No surprises and no confusion about who is responsible for what.

How would you like to be involved? *

Submitting a referral does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship or a co-counsel agreement. A partner will follow up to confirm next steps.

Common questions.

What kinds of cases are you looking for?

Personal injury and wrongful death matters: motor vehicle collisions, pedestrian and bicycle injuries, medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, and other serious-injury cases in Oregon and Washington.

How are referral fees handled?

In compliance with the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct. That means a reasonable division of fees, the client's informed written consent, and a clear written agreement before any work begins. Oregon RPC 1.5(e) and Washington RPC 1.5(e) govern fee divisions between lawyers who are not in the same firm.

Do I stay involved in the case?

That is your call. Some attorneys refer a case fully and step back. Others want to co-counsel and stay close to the work. Either way, you stay informed and the client relationship remains yours.

When do I get paid?

Referral and co-counsel fees are paid at resolution, out of the recovery, on the terms set in the written agreement. We handle the accounting cleanly and transparently.

Have a case in mind?

Send it over, or talk to Emery directly. We will tell you honestly whether it is a case we can take and how we would handle it.
